If Canon decides to perform minor upgrades to their line then I will wait. So should those of you that are on the fence

What Nikon has put out is what we have expected from the Canon after the 30D debacle. But Canon has done it again and made a relatively minor upgrade compared to what the D200 has to offer let alone the D300.

The only real key upgrade from the 30D for the new Canon is the AF.

From the reports so far I have not seen anyone overly impressed by the AF other than the usual moans and groans about back and front focusing.

My 20D is fine as it is and going from 8 to 10 megapixels does nothing to me.

10 megapixel - Minor increase so not worth upgrading
AF - Nice but since I don't really have any real issues with AF I'll pass
3" LCD - Nice but again nothing worth looking at
Shutter - Softer sound could be useful but again not worth it
Auto ISO - P&S fixed ISO modes instead of priority like the D200 makes it useless
Weather sealing - Was in a rain shooting just this weekend and a quick cover with a hat saves the day... If I was to have to shoot with a rain jacket on it must mean serious business and I should have a 1DmkIII instead.

So all in all quite a dissapointment from Canon. If they're depending on people to move to 5D where it doesn't even have a popup flash and leave the ef-s in the dust then they'll know that Nikon sales will improve instead.

If the 50D is another minor upgrade then I will have to rethink my loyalty to Canon
