Don't shoot the messenger. OK, I know the pic sucks, but check out the weird horizontal noise banding (it looks vertical do to the orientation of the camera). Anyway, there was a thread a while ago about this kind of noise in high-ISO flash shots, but this was not using a flash. The lens was a Sigma 18-50 / 2.8, all the rest of the info in in the exif after the images.

Oh yeah -- although the images I posted were right out of the camera, I also tried using NoiseNinja. There was no effect on the banding. Think a firmware update can fix this?
