In travel photography, changing lens is very costly !
First, it may introduce dust, sand, rain, etc.
Second, changing lens takes time, most time the scene will not wait !
3rd, multiple f2.8 pro lens is bulky, heavy to carry, and high $ cost.
4th, more lens, more worry of theft / loss.
Thus the case of one lens 18-250 or 28-300 (FF) ! (Sorry, the 18-270 has no piezo-electric motor, SWM or AF-S or HSM)
but, how about pin cushion distortion, low light ?
Cheap software, quick fix such as Corel paint shop pro ? for < $30 USD
It can not fix 100 %, but how about 99% ? or 90% ?
May be the camera maker should incorporate the software in the chip of their camera body ? It sure can recognize the lens model !
Thus, the case for more expensive camera, high iso, smarter chip !
What do you think ?
