When I read mag's articles on landscape photos that have been taken, I'm very often reading to close the lens all the way down. In other articles you read that closing a lens down compromises sharpness, yet when I see the landscape photos from photographers closing their lens all the way down, the photo seems quite sharp.

Any thoughts?
