My wife and I love photography. She has a Canon p&s that is getting fairly dated and worn out. She wants a new camera for the holidays. She usually shoots in auto and doesn't really venture into more advanced settings. However, I would consider myself and advanced amateur, and I like to control ISO, shutter, aperture and the like, something that is a pain to do on her current camera. I'd like a camera that we both can use when I want to leave my slr at home

So, I'd like to get her a decent point and shot with these features:
*28-150mm equivalent zoom (somewhere in there, I'd prefer the wide end she would like the long end)

*Decent auto mode with full manual capability (A/S/M)

*On board flash

*Largish LCD

*At least 8mp

*Decent IQ (not gonna be pixel peeping these images though...)

*Pocketable in size if possible as small as possible otherwise

I've been out of the p&s market for a while now and have no real local resources to try out many cameras. The camera this will replace is a Canon A610 (?) which she likes and takes a pretty decent photos, but is on the verge of its physical life and is larger than she cares to have.

I would really appreciate any help you can offer.

Thanks so much

Brian
