I haven't cleaned the sensor yet, I plan on doing it on December 2nd when I give a sensor cleaning demo for the faint-hearted in my local photo club.
I have the tools for three different cleaning methods (in addition to a simple blowing with a rocket blower). I 've got swabs & fluid for the wet method, a sensor brush for the dry method, and a DustAid Platinum for the viscous method.
I also shoot with a Sigma SD14. One of the two bodies I have is prone to sensor dust. Since it has a dust protector, I believe tha the camera generates a bit of internal dust so I do a lot of cleaning on it. The DustAid Platinum has become my preferred method and that would go with any DSLR, not just my Sigma. Since I'll be using my E-510 in the demo, it will get cleaned with all three mthods but if I had to use only one, it would be the DustAid Platinum.
There is another cleaner I picked up, from EyeLead. Canon Japan sells a sensor cleaner that the Eyelead is modeled after. It works just like the DustAid Platinum but it comes with a lot more of the leaning strips than the Dust Aid does, it seems to be a better value. It's not easy to find but you can get it on Amazon. Search on Amazon for "eyelead image sensor cleaning kit" and you'll find it. I've tried it on my Sigma, it works well. If you decide you want to use a sensor brush, rather than spend a lot for the ones sold by vendors like VisibleDust, simply go to a craft store and buy a high-quality 100% nylon brush. That's what I use as a sensor brush and it works.
