I figure someone must have run up against this before. I just found out today that one of our legs on an upcoming Antarctica trip, consists of a charter flight with an 11 lbs. carry-on weight restriction (Buenos Aires to Ushuaia). Only one carry-on is allowed too. That's quite, er, restricting when camera backpacks empty can weigh half that amount or more. ;) Loads of people go down there with weighty camera gear, how are they getting around this? Is everyone checking Pelican cases at the gate??
