A big hello to all the helpful folks here. I'm looking to buy a lightmeter, to learn more about light, old style. Unfortunately, pretty tight on the budget. I'm willing to go for used, analog types as well, so long as they serve the edification purposes.
I'm more interested in exploring landscape and natural light type of photography, to add some context. So, no aspiring studio photographer here.
I understand i would need an incident meter for my stated purpose and style. Am I correct? My camera does already have the reflected light metering capability, of course.
Also, is spot metering capability iessential to such a learning tool? If yes, what can a beginner settle at- a 1 degree, a 5 degree, a 10 degree? Be gentle as i've not handled a standalone lightmeter :-).
So, if you have any recommendations, please post here. I'd like to go as cheap as would suffice :-), preferrably close to usd 100. As always, your inputs are greatly appreciated. -AP
