Funny, we reached maximum 150 posts in the former thread. I start a new one.

Philippe, a member from another forum is recoding DCRAW into a new version with an option to blend N RAW files prior to RAW development, and prior to white balance too. That means he internally generates a virtual 16-bit RAW free of noise so noise propagation in the demosaicing will be reduced to a minimum. I told him about the possibility of putting all those data into a 16-bit DNG output file, but let's see first if he manages to output a TIFF...

However to implement with that conception some other features I have in mind as image alignment, progressive blending and exposure control can become more difficult as it has to be coded in C as part of DCRAW's source code.
