Batteries for Nikon MB-D10 battery pack

I am purchasing a Nikon MB-D10 battery pack for my Nikon D300. I also plan on using the 8 AA battery feature to increase speed to 8 frames per second.

1) How important is MaH rating of batteries in obtaining maximum frames per second? Is "higher" better?

2) What battery manufacturer and model would you recommend?

3) Can a battery charger manufactured by one company also be used with batteries manufactured by a different company?
