Mac vs PC

I am currently using a PC am was thinking of possibly switching to Mac so I am curious of how many of you use Mac and how many of you use PC for you photo editing for portraits?

To those that have switched why did you make the switch, are you satisfied with the switch and to those that are with PC what monitor would you recommend at a fair budget price (less than $500)?
