I'm going to write a blog post about my Dad, who was a professional photographer for M-G-M studios when the company was considered a "kingdom." In particular, I'm going to write about this photo he took when his position at the time was staff photographer. The unique way he got the photo to major newspapers in order to meet the deadline so such photos would appear in morning papers, not an easy task with the huge crowds that lined the streets at grand opening those days.

I would like to give a little summary on how photo journalists get their time-sensitive photos to their agencies (not sure they are called agencies). I know it's done electronically and almost instantly.
For example, do you carry a laptop, upload image files from camera to laptop then send via email?
I'd appreciate any insights. Thank you.
btw, I have this and many other photos taken by him from his private collection. I haven't scanned them all yet but, for those I have they've been resized and scanned at low resolution for obvious reasons. -- gail ~ http://www.pbase.com/gailb My XSi/450D BLOG :: http://www.digicamhelp.com/camera-logs/canon-xsi-450d/xsi450d-overall-impressions/
