I've only recently been using Ricoh Forum after acquiring the GX200 which I'm very pleased with ..
I'm not by any means an avid Forum writer , as I have the belief that after very many years in photography it is still the case that the best way to learn most things is just to try them out with your own camera , work with it as YOU like to take pics , and in that way get what is 'the best' for your own needs.
But there are always many things of interest with any camera range that come up as genuine items of interest or queries .. and this is what I find just unbelievable here.
I've spent a lot of time on other Forums - Fuji ,Sony, Olympus, Canon in earlier times , and more recently on Panasonic Forum. Now THERE .. (Panny) .. it is just incredible - you post something, and in less than half a day it is likely off page 1 .. things move too quickly really there.
But on Ricoh - golly .. post something here , and it's likely to get less than half way down in a week or so !!
Now I know Ricoh users are generally quite enthusiastic .. moreso than this Forum suggests anyway , so why is it that so little seems to happen here ???
As a little example - in my previous times with the Canon 'G' series AND with the Panny LX3 similarly, there's been lots of interest in the very excellent leather 'split' (two halves) cases for those cameras - they add enormously to the handling and protection of those cameras , and it seems that Ebay Sellers have not left that un-noticed as THEY supply excellent cases when the makers just haven't done so directly. The GX200 would greatly benefit the same way , but in view of the seemingly lack of interest by users , nobody has bothered to produce a case of the same type. I know there ARE a few cases that are a bit similar .. 'puttin' has one which takes the VF as well , but many I'm sure would more welcome a split case that is just for the camera 'as is' .. but I just find this unobtainable .. as nobody has likely seem enough interest to produce one.
Same with a few other accessories I'm sure .. if there is no open interest shown by users , nobody wastes time developing or making an item.
Has anybody noticed - there is a camera now called the E-P1 !!! Hardly on the street ..but Olympus have already made it clear that AVAILABLE for it is a 'half-case' protection .. no wonder people are drawn to other ranges ....
