Having tested with the 128MB xD-Pcture card to record full 30fps video until card full @ 1m 51s (as advertised), I then toy around using my CF-256MB (apacer cheapo brand), the biggest that I have, to capture video with the M603 and this is the result:-

320x240 15fps : record till card full - 13m 57s
640x480 15fps : record till card full - 7m 11s
640x480 30fps : stop & start storing at 1m 5s

Did a format on the 256MB-CF with 8K allocate unit size (default 4K) and discover that it records about 50% more till 1m 32s (30fps) before stopping & storing.

Did another format at 16K size and found that it drops back to around 1 minute only :(

Then, follow by a reformat back to 8K size, and still it never get back the first test result (1m 32s) but still stay at a minute.... can't seems to repeat the trick again; and I don't think it's an issue with defragementation since I've reformated (full, not quick) it before testing every time.

Could it be that the very first time we reformat the CF card via the PC, it did something special which reformatting it more than once will take away the effect? I vaguely remember that the first time I format the CF card via my PC (Win2K using Control Panel) was almost instanteneous whereas subsequence formating takes a while with the "percentage progress bar" appearing for about 30secs during formating - this NEVER happen the very first time I format it....

Well, anyway I'm happy that it can capture 15fps VGA till card full....will try it out on a 512MB CF card when I get my hands on one ;)
