Last Friday, I attended a theater play called "the last hour", and decided to give the F70exr a try in very challenging conditions (quite darkness). I set the camera on: - Manual mode - The widest aperture at any focal - 1/13 s - ISO 1600 - DR 400% - Auto WB Once at home, I've been amazed by the number of keepers. I really can't thing of another compact that can pull these results. This is exactly what the F70exr is meant for, other devices lack the reach or the High ISO goodness. F70exr has both and does admirably when you know how to shoot it: fine grain that doesn't harm edges when sharpened, excellent contrast and saturation, a lot of details that can be recovered in highlights. Surely these shots are better web sized, but for me, I like that lovely film grain and would print these shots larger without hesitation. I love this camera!
So those doubting F70exr stabilization, I have many 270mm sharp shots at 1/13s, so more than 4 stops of gain. Unfortunately, these shots can't bare too much cropping, so you have to frame adequately.
I hope you enjoy them!
