s1500 or s2000

I wonder if anyone can help me decide between the s1500 & s2000. I have read some postings already on the topic but it didnt really help me. I am mainly wanting to take photos of our baby & children. On the whole which camera would produce a better photo, or are they much the same? - which means the 2000 would be a better option as it has the HD vid.
