I Received my S8000fd this morning, loaded it with 4 Sanyo Eneloop AA rechargeables and went out shooting. (I also had to Video tape my grandson's Football game this afternoon. Consequently, I wasn't able to run home and edit & post some of the first pics until now.

COMMENTS
- It is a nice camera to use. I like it as much as my Sony H9, and I will keep both. (The Sony has a larger 3" screen and an articulating LCD screen that is very convenient.)

- Almost every picture was taken with the camera set on Full Auto

- One picture is just the way it came out of the camera, the other was subjected to a little PP in Microsoft Digital Image Suite 10 by clicking on Exposure Autofix and Contrast Autofix. Some pics were also adjusted with Levels Autofix, and some were also straightened

- I have created 7 Groups of pictures and posted them on my Smugmug site

- Group 1 was made using a small, portable monopod / tripod called Ultrapod II. However, in all fairness, it was a little windy, today

- Group 2 thru 7 were all photographed hand-held

- I have already posted Group 1 & 2 in my Smugmug site, tomorrow I will continue to post Groups 3 - 7

Note: Most of these are just snapshots of everyday items. The S8000fd did a good job on Full Auto, so I would expect it to do even better using A,S,P and M controls.
