zi8 focal lengths

Does anyone that has a Zi8 know what focal lengths it shoots at the different quality settings? I know it varies based on the video format you choose, I just dont know which mode shoots the what focal length.

I bought an Aiptek gvs that is worthless to me because in 1080p mode its shoots at a 70mm focal length at the widest angle. 720p30 mode is 45mm. And still are at 35mm. I cannot believe none of the reviews I read touched on this at all.
