This short series demonstrates the difficulty of high DR, although the effect in B&W is not as bad as color. Now if you pixelpeep, you'll see plenty of grain as cam was on Auto ISO....but as long as the grain is tight, not blotchy I'm okay with it for B&W, and the detail is still very good. I think the 863 will go no higher than 320ISO in auto. At 64ISO you only get 1/8 sec which limits what you can correctly expose. I'm going to try again at 100/200 ISO and see what can be done. rick
