I had G3, G6, G7, G9, G10 and 3 X Pro1. I won't be getting the G11. It is spring in Australia and a nice time for photography. The Jacaranda blossoms are out and there is a lot of beauty everywhere to shoot. Time for a new camera to reshoot all the usual subjects! :)

I took a few photos with the G11. Yes, love the articulating screen. I wasn't convinced I had to have this release. I have read this forum and the comments and reviews that have been online. It seems to me that Canon gave us a DPReview model and it isn't as good as the G10. What a pity Canon didn't release 2 versions with an articulating LCD.
The G10x and the G11.

I also tried a 7D but the damn thing had focus issues. My advice to everyone. Save up and get the 5DII and L glass. You won't be disappointed.

My G10 still out performs my 5DII in some circumstances. In macro for depth of field and having a built in flash. I find myself using the G10 less and less. I had scratches on the lens and Canon Australia replaced the lens assembly under warranty so it is like getting a revamped camera.

Good luck to those with the G11, the retrograde G model. When the G10 was released there was a lot of criticism. Some of us showed what it could do in good light. I am sensing that the G11 is causing some regret and disappointment in some owners. It is a bit amusing how theories get accepted on the internet and photography is no different. DPReview gave the G10 a disappointing 'recommended' yet it is a superior camera to the G11. I haven't seen the benefits of reducing the pixel count. As long as the consumers get what they want then what can anyone say?
