I'll preface this thread with "I love my S90". But that said...I'm beginning to think in certain outdoor environments the S90 in Auto mode has some serious issues. And while I could overcome them by simply shooting manually, one of the reasons I purchased the S90 was to have a "good" PnS.

The problem I'm seeing is purely one of saturation...and then not even of all colors. While I've noticed this on many shots over the past couple of test days, here's one of the back of my house that perfectly exemplifies what I mean.

Notice how the house itself is in perfect color balance (well, I'll have to vouch for that as I was the one standing there), but the perfectly blue sky is WAY too blue from what I saw. And when I print this shot that blue becomes blindingly dark blue. Yet, when printed, the house looks perfectly normal and exactly the same as in the picture.

I'm not a professional, but I have been doing this as a hobby for 40 years and I think the S90's (Auto) selection of F5.0 and 1/500 might have something to with it as I can easily tone down the sky by tinkering with the settings and shooting manually.

I did buy the S90 for primarily indoor use, but for heaven's sake, it should work fine outdoors as well. If this turns out to be a camera issue...I'll eat the 15% restocking fee and return it. Can someone a little more knowledgeable than me comment here. Thanks.
