Got my SD880 this evening. Here is my inital impression after playing with it briefly.

The camera is well made, feel solid in the hand, yet very portable. I was actually surprise to see how small it is. Operation and menu system are snappy and responsive. The face detection works nicely too. Focusing is pretty quick.

Regarding image quality, I am very happy to report the corner sharpness has improved greatly. The difference between center and corner is minimal. The abysmal corners of Canon DC's 28mm are finally gone! I only tested some shots in door. The noise is well under control till ISO200. Color and skin tones are natural and pleasing.

A few drawbacks so far. The plastic door covering the mini USB port seems a little flimsy. It seems to be made from hard plastic, instead of rubber. I also found 3 hot pixels. Don't know if that's common for current corps of 10M+ tiny CCDs.

I feel Canon has put together a really nice package in SD880, with 28mm wide angle, good IQ, snappy operation in a very portable form factor. It's a pity that HD video is not included though.
