There are many complaints on the S5IS with regards to build quality and features - dust on lens, creaking sounds on battery covers, LCD hinges, lack of 28mm & RAW etc and and am wondering if this will drive many S5 users to go for the new Pan FZ18.

FZ18 Pluses: RAW mode, Good hand grip design & better build quality, 28mm and 18x zoom to 504mm, superior OIS, 110 g lighter (with batteries), no corner softness & little barrel distortion at full wide, etc. More powerful flash (6m)
FZ18 Minuses: No hot shoe, No Swivel LCD, Smearing artifacts from Venus III at ISO200 onwards, lousy movie mode, Proprietary batteries, etc.
The S5, for me, is strictly a travel camera and personal companion and I hardly ever use external flash and only do occasional movies with it.
The FZ18 looks tempting with the 28mm wide angle and RAW.
What do you think, image quality aside? -- Yus.
