I've posted these in the past - so my apologies for posting them again. The RAW images with the SP-350 are superb. I recommend however, that like everything else, it's the RAW converter that makes or breaks the ORF file. I strongly recommend Adobe's ACR, or Olympus Studio, or Silkypix to get the best from the SP-350.

The Canon A620 (I have that camera also) is a superb unit, albeit much larger than the SP-350. The A620 has a strong featureset and is capable of some wonderful shots - but tonality-wise (colors), IMO, I believe that the SP-350 bests it (just a personal opinion and not a slam against the 620). I do love both cameras - as every model has its tradeoffs. In addition, there are many posters who just don't have their sharpening processing down yet, or (and this is a mighty big "or"), they just don't know how to resave for web (the amount of compression used in the resized JPG images). And of course, the biggest variable (and one that is often overlooked) is the fact that many people wind up inducing camera shake as a result of taking the image hand-held, making the images less sharp of course (that's why I always recommend using either a monopod or tripod...or a chestpod) to ensure that image sharpness is maintained.

Here are the RAW samples - all taken at ISO 50, shot manually (1/125 at f.4 - 4.5) using the FL-36 flash in bounce mode (I used the Oly flash bracket handle which offsets the flash to the left side). I am delighted with the image quality of this camera.

And here are some SHQ images (Super High Quality JPG's) - ISO 50 - 100, Aperture Priority (forgot the specific shooting parameters):
