A brilliant trick of the programmer, he just uses a routine in the camera's firmware that maps out the hotpixels. Make sure the camera has been off for some time (perhaps even cool it for a couple of hours) otherwise you will map out 512 pixels (the maximum table length) After remapping my 5700 i took some lenscap tiff's and checked them with the deadpixeltest program. Only pixels with a luminance of 1 showed up. So my CCD is near perfect! I have 276 removed hotpixels on my CCD. -- Success Ben Nikon 5700 Sunpak MZ440AF
