Ok, I'm not a professional but avid enthusiast. My first DSLR was my current D80. I bought it about 18 months ago instead of D40 or D60 so i could grow into it. Problem is I think I have out grown it for the simple reason that it's ISO performance above 800 drives me crazy. I can go to 1600 but don't love the quality and I'm sure the pro's on here know much more than me about the short comings of the D80's ISO performance.

Having said all that, I'm trying to figure out what camera to upgrade to. My thoughts are D90 or D700. From my research it sounds as though D90 ISO performance is better than the new D300s. Video really isn't that important to me, I would not base my decision on what to buy based on video, I want a camera, not a cam corder.

I'm really not all that familiar with the D700 other then what i have read on nikon's site and honestly i only understand 50% of what i read. Can anyone give me some advice, thoughts etc?? Anyone have D700 feedback? Thx
