I have been researching different GPS units for some time now, and none with the exception of Easytagger GPS unit have a barometric altimeter.
This is important if you ever go above sea level. Just like I went to TIBET.
The accuracy of elevation with GPS signals is not good and requires time to lock enough satellites to give accurate altitude. I am often hike, and a unit having a barometric altimeter is a real plus.
The Easytagger GPS unit also logs trackpoints, for a cost that is less than all competitors.
I don't have mine yet...it has been ordered but neither Someta GPS unit, GP1 unit or others come close to the feature set for the price. Solmeta's new unit will track logs and do everything that Easytagger does except it does not have the barometric altimeter and costs more.
