Just picked up a 5100 about a week ago and was not too happy at first with IQ with camera settings of +1 sharpening medium high, +1 enhanced saturation, auto ISO 64 and NR on at the auto setting. I now turned off NR, changed auto ISO to 100 and set sharpening and saturation to 0 or normal. I like to use this camera on auto so I can take pictures quickly while hiking. Post processing with CS2 making level adjustments, sometimes curves and unsharp mask values of 100, .07 & 0 give me what I was looking for. I like the colors and don't see the need to change much there or boost the saturation. Anyone else have similar experiences or other suggested settings. Thanks.
