Very nice Roger..... In answer to your question.... Yes. First try adjusting levels on the pencil layer, (drag the middle slider to the left and the left slider to the right) It might pay to make a selection first so you only remove the bits you want..........or simply use the eraser to tone them down or kill them completely.
