Glad to help Gheth. I assume you are using PS but the same can be done in other software.

I choose Colour Range under the select menu. When you are in this dialogue box you will get an eyedropper. Use the eye dropper to choose the sky and hold down shift key to add more sky until it is all selected then click OK.

This will then give you marching ants around the sky. If you find that it has also picked up other parts of your image just use the lasso tool whilst holding down the alt key to deselect the parts that are not sky. Once you have done that you can use any number of tools from Colour balance....hue/saturation....to a gradient under the fill bucket icon to change your sky.

This is a powerful way to select the sky especially when it is showing through the branches of a tree. After you practice a bit you will be able to do this in about 60 seconds it is that easy. I also have a number of photos of just the sky from deep blue to clouds and storms and sometimes just drop this sky into my original photo when it is completely washed out.
