its an action i created myself. you can adjust it so that it leaves you with the tones you want. not sure how to post the action so i'll just give you the workflow. this is done after converting to b&w.

dupe layer
hide background layer
usm:
82
54
37
dupe layer
run high pass on layer 1 copy filter - 25
set layer 1 copy blend mode to soft light
merge visible
usm on layer 1 copy

dupe layer
high pass on layer 1 copy 2 - 77
dupe layer 1 copy 2 twice
set blending mode of layer 1 copy 4 to darken and invert
merge layer 1 copy 4 with layer 1 copy 3
gaussian blur - 50
set opacity to 30%
change blend mode to soft light
on layer 1 copy 2 invert, set layer blend to soft light and change opacity to 30%
merge visible.
unhide original layer and adjust opacity.
if you end up with a border that has that halo around it, just erase with 50% opacity eraser until it looks right.
flatten image.
