What's the optimum charging current to maintain the life of Sanyo Eneloop pre-charged NiMH (rated 2,000 mAh) batteries?

I've found three different answers to my question.

The Sanyo charger for Eneloop batteries specifices a charging output of 300 mA in the technical specifications.

The manual for my Maha/Powerrex MH-C9000 charger indicates that the charge should be at least 0.33 of the capacity. Rounded up for 2,000 mAh battery = 700 mA.

A FAQ document for the Maha charger inficates a charge of 1,000 mA for the 2,000 mAh Eneloop battery.

So . . . 300, 700, or 1,000.

What do you think? (keeping in mind my target is battery logevity not speed of charging battery)

Thanks. Tom
