Hi, I am starting to learn photography and I want to buy a new camera (I have a Nikon Coolpix L16 atm, which has very basic functions and can't learn too much since it is almost completely automatized).
Since I'm still in the process of learning, I am seeking help from your community to take a decision.
I have been doing a lot of searches, and I've narrowed the chance to buy one of the two: Panasonic Lumix FZ30 or Fuji S1500.
I know the first one is discontinued, but the price seems nice and the reviews say it is a good camera. The price for each one is lower than 150€. As I said, I'm learning and buying an expensive camera would be wasted on me for now. Also, they seem to offer all the features I need to learn.
However, being a newbie I am still undecided between the two. They have many features that seem similar (to my unexperienced eye). Evaluating the pros and the cons of each one of the two I've come to the following main issues:
The Panasonic Lumix FZ30 + can do RAW (this actually is a ++ I believe) + has 8MP and a smaller pixel density on sensor (I heard somewhere that this should be a good thing) - lower resolution - I have been reading that photos come with a lot of noise starting at ISO 200. + (I have the chance to pay this one abot 10/15% less than the other one)
The Fuji S1500 - can't do RAW + has 10MP + higher resolution + less noise + uses AA batteries (rechargables are cheaper and easier to find)
As of now I'm really undecided. Is there something else I should look for, in order to make my decision?
This is the comparison chart from the site http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp?method=sidebyside&cameras=fuji_finepixs1500%2Cpanasonic_dmcfz30&show=all
Since the idea is to use the camera in every situation (indoor, outdoor, at night), which one would you buy?
I read the in-depth review of the FZ30 on this site, and I saw that the noise can be corrected with software on the PC. This is fine for me, if the quality of the pictures is unchanged.
(P.S. - Sorry, English is not my main language, so bear with me if my grammar is quite bad.)
