I am looking for a new digital camera recommendation. By budget is <$400. Something between a P&S and DSLR with manual controls and good in low light settings. What I don't like about my current P&S (Sony Cybershot DSC-W5) is that people always look too washed out by the flash, not very natural. I'm a complete beginner but have a interest in learning so would like something with more capabilities. Also, anyone with camera store recommendations in the Los Angeles area? Thank you for your time and thoughts.
