I was looking at Hoya for polarizing, but then decided that since I'm new to DSLRs, maybe I should get some el cheapo filters to use first. Are there any filters generally accepted as good bang for the buck in the cheap filter department?

I'd put priority on a polarizing filter, if it makes a difference.

I'll be using:
Canon Rebel T1i

EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS

I already have a Tiffen 58mm UV Protection Filter coming (it was free).
