B&H sells a lot of cameras and lenses two ways, marked either USA or Imported.
Has anyone had experience (good or bad) regarding warranty work on their USA vs. their Imported/Grey market products.
I realize that the Grey market products are slightly cheaper, but the main difference seems to be in the warranty.
If the product is good, no problem. But if the product goes bad, for warranty work:
USA product - must be returned to a manufacturer's licensed repair station.
Imported/Grey market product - must be returned to B&H for service.
Being specific, who would provide the best service for Nikon gear (camera and lenses) -- Nikon licensed repair centers (are there a bunch of them) or B&H, (which I would guess would turn around and send to a licensed repair center). So in both cases, I would expect the reapir work to be satisfactory.
So from any experience, which is/was the best route to take, which would be the least hassle or give the best hassle-free service.. -- Ron in Round Rock
