Hi everyone,

I'm looking to buy a DSLR purely for the greater image quality. I don't have any real interest in photography as such and I am not concerned about buying a future proof camera or one that has a tonne of features.

I want to buy a camera that provides good image and video quality - preferably HD. Also functions wise I would like to be able to choose an option to take more than 1 photo a second and also I would like to use optical zoom during video capture.

Size and ease of use are of a premium - I want to be able to take my camera to concerts and clubs for holiday happy snaps and transfer it all to my computer easily. Also if you could recommend a camera that is relatively sturdy that would be a bonus too!

I was thinking a canon powershot g9, but that even that may be too fancy. My price range is $350 - $450
