After much reading and learning (mostly confused still) about slr cameras, I finally chose the nikon d5000 and made purchased one today from beach cameras. The camera is body only and my dilemma is the camera lense. I have narrowed it down to 3 lenses that I want to choose from, but cannot come to a conclusion. The 3 lenses: AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105mm Nikon 16-85mm AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G The reason I included the last lense is because I will be taking pictures of cars mostly during night time. I am unsure to how drastically the aperture changes between 3.5 and 1.4. I rather have some flexibility and go with the 16-85, but is 3.5 adequate for night time shooting? Since I am new to photography, I'd like to stick to just one lense for now. Which one should I choose? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks
