I have recently moved up from a superzoom hybrid to the sony a230 with the 18-55kit lens. Now, having been a zoom-addict for years, the standard zoom of that lens is an immediate limitation for me. Now, I can spare some cash for one extra lens.
Intuitively, I'd simply go for the 55-200 and I'd be where I left off with the superzoom. However, the idea of switching to dslr was to get more seriously into photography, go for more dedicated photo-taking trips, and churn out pictures of better quality than can be achieved with the hybrid camera through greater control and camera/lens quality. I presently live in tuscany, so what I usually focus on is indoors photogrphy (people and art) and landscapes/nature/forest walks around Italy. The wide-angle of the kit lens is serving me fine for now and the choice is between buy a prime 50mm or still go for the 55-200mm? It seems that the former is a must-have (and maybe better to truly get into photography - especially the indoor part), but I do really miss the latter, somehow, when I'm in the outdoors. Maybe it's just an addiction though...

Given all the previous considerations, a penny for your thoughts?

P.S. The prime I'd buy is the new sony aps-c one, which apparently equals 75mm on 35mm film (at around 150EUR) versus the 55-200 (at around 220EUR).
