I currently own a Nikon D80 with a 18-200 VR, 85mm 1.4, and a 24-70 2.8. I've been looking to step up to a full frame censor, and I'm sort of having second thoughts about jumping straight to the D700. I've been looking at the Canon EOS 5D Mark II as well.
I know that I would not be able to use my lenses, but that would be about the only thing I would be out. I'm sure I could sell the lenses and get some of the money back if I decided to go Canon, but I'm still not sure either way. I haven't done my research yet on Canon, but I wanted to know if anyone had a particular preference one way or the other. Something other than a personal preference.
The main differences that I see directly is the Nikon has 5 fps instead of 3.9, but the Canon has 21.1 mp compared to 12.1, and it has 1080p Movie Mode (not sure if I would need this), and a larger ISO Range 50-25600 instead of 6400. Any help or initial advice would be greatly appreciated.
