Just as an aside, and after reading the comments here and elsewhere, I think it's good to just accent a few points: Regardless of which of the two you prefer, one thing IS clear- this camera was developed TOGETHER by Leica AND Panasonic. Panasonic made use of Leica's expertise where it was key, and Leica profited from their expertise as well. This was a condition of their working together and 'dual badging' operation. Panasonic would certainly not be able to produce lens configurations like this one in any case..And it clear that Leica's input was much higher than many are willing to believe....In fact in my view, Leica's input is the most important becasue of the lens and manual possibilites which they were responsible for designing.
The point is: this camera is a LEICA and a PANASONIC.....and true to this backgorund, each company has perfectly reasonable 'rights' to badging and presentation, without being accused of misguiding the consumer.
Panasonic, however, has contractual agreeements to release each of their dual developed products first before Leica.
If the Lecia were the first one released, then the Internet discussions would have been reversed, i.e. Panasonic would be called the 'rebadged' version of the Leica.
It just boils down to which one you like to hold in your hand and use.
