Why did they have to stick to the obsolete 24x36 size of 35mm film? There's nothing holding them to that size. FF lenses can cover a 43.3mm circle, which would give us a 34.6 x 26mm image, in a more pleasing 4:3 format.

In fact this would be the best of both worlds - we get to keep the more pleasing 4:3 format Oly pioneered, and with a larger "full frame" sensor with much better noise characteristics than the Oly.

Plus, we get to use all the "full frame" 35mm Minolta / Sony lenses.

Why sony why? Or are we expecting too much from the likes of sony?
