My point about testing revealing the truth of Bayer vs Foveon sensors is that Sigma has been saying the Foveon has much better color resolution, and that their 4.6 mp sensor is equivalent to a 14mp sensor, and that we need to test those notions.

I say that a Bayer with much higher mp numbers will have to be equal to the Foveon with 4.6mp, because it has at least 3 times the number of pixels, and therefore an equal number of red or blue photosites.

But all this will come out in the wash if we can just get the review with Phil's numbers done as best he can. But if he does color res charts as well, I hope he does some comparisons with Bayer 10 and 12mp cameras. I know for a fact that I have seen no problems with my Sony a100 with color resolution. But I don't even care who wins - I just want to settle it, and create some sort of Bayer vs Foveon mp equivalency chart.
