Some people have been speculating when a DSLR with EVF will be coming. Well, I learn from a reliable source Olympus may be the first one to introduce a type of camera: E-330.

Basically this E-330 is based on the E-300 except the deletion of the optical reflection system and replacement by a high quality EVF. It is very much same as most of the consumer DC's except the lens is exchangeable.

I make up a new term for this: DSLE - Digital Single Lens EVF. They are different than the consumer DC's in that the lens can be replaced but the viewfinder is an electronic one, and most likely the back LCD could be also enabled to display a real time video as well.

Not sure how reliable it is, Sony is most likely will introduce an EVF version of DSC-R1 using Konica-Minolta lens, the timeframe will be second half of 2006.

BTW, the E-330 will be announced soon, very soon, probably sooner than 2006 PMA. In fact I bet some of the reviewers already signed NDA from Olympus. :-)
